How (not) to kill a designer.
Including the word “dynamic” in your feedback is scientifically proven to reduce designer life expectancy.
So if you want your designer colleagues, friends, and family to live longer, happier lives…

Follow these 10 commandments and you’ll get the most of any creative team:
- 1. Respect the times established in your contract — whether it means providing feedback on time or being patient for a deliverable.
- 11. Take time to carefully digest and provide feedback in a single batch.
- 111. Be as descriptive as possible, even if it seems obvious or non-technical.
- 1v. Avoid vague terms like "dynamic," "interesting," or "make it pop"— think of the designer deaths!
-
- v. References, references, references. Use Pinterest boards, Miro Boards or even Google Images to back up your comments with references.
- v1. Follow the creative team's established feedback process—if it’s there, it’s for a reason.
- v11. Provide feedback as close to the implementation point as possible—Google Doc comments are awesome for this.
v111. If feedback needs discussion, set up a meeting; if it's difficult to explain over chat or email, use a Loom video.
1x. Communicate what you like just as much as what you dislike.-
x. Be kind.
